Drywall Off

I started the day out with a full breakfast, which hardly ever happens and truly only happened on accident. I arrived extra early for my first appointment today and decided to make the most of it. I’m trying to find ways to balance busy days while still being “Mom” first.

Wallpaper samples.

Demo spray paint (this is a MUST – they always find a way to take a wall out you NEVER asked to be taken out).

A local trip to the half-yearly HD Buttercup sale (no amount of internet bargain hunting can out-save a true retail sale).

A clean baby, some snapchat selfies and a few bedtime giggles are the most important parts of my day.

Always ASK.

Supply, demand, trends, shelf life… SO many things that are NOT necessarily based on finish and material seem to determine a product’s price. I constantly remind myself to check prices before writing things off, thinking, “Oh that’s going to be too expensive.” These tiles range from $3 a square foot to $40 a square foot.

Within the challenges of entrepreneurism I have found an appreciation for the tone I want to set versus the need to purchase that specific, special tile I thought I HAD to have. I find freedom in flexibility. In the past this has led me down some marvelous roads unintentionally.

Be open to the process; go with the flow. Relax, and let change happen. Look at ALL of your options and THEN make the best decision. The love and thought will show in your final choices.

Dayparting by Design

This posted over a month ago, and i JUST happened to find it. A nice surprise and reminder to stay on the path of doing what I love. Some days have challenges and setbacks, but then I’ll see a friendly reminder to be grateful.

Look around and see how far you’ve come. Don’t forget that goal that stands accomplished today was once a goal that felt really far away.

I feel extremely blessed, but it’s hard to remember that when I’m cursing at the unforeseen challenges.

“As the owner of LEONA restaurant in Venice Beach, California Breegan Jane Vallas wanted to create a sexy, beachy and comfortable venue that caters to diners morning, noon and night. However, one of her biggest challenges was making the venue transform into a different space from day to evening without sacrificing the restaurant’s overall design.”

Goodbye, Old Pal…

As I move on to this next chapter, I must say goodbye to the last one.

I love this home. It has kept my kids safe and warm. It has provided shade breaks on sunny beach days. It has showered our sandy toes. It has lent its warmth at every laugh, hug and cry. I was so busy moving forward; the sadness of leaving crept up on me out of nowhere. It feels like I JUST got this house to the perfect functionality for our needs. From a new kids’ room to several cute high chairs tucked away for extra baby guests, this home was starting to feel perfect. And now it’s time to say goodbye.

I will remember you. I loved you. And I will miss you.
